I’m glad we decided to bring this 25kg kmart play kitchenback from Melbourne, i’m sure i will be very regret if we didn’t. Once i saw it in kmart website i know i want this instead of ikea’s one because it’s come with fridge compartment plus it’s way cheaper almost half the price only! Managed to convinced Ming to brought it back because he was the one who need carried it up and down the car and in the airport *poor husband*. Before and after the original color was mint, blue, red and white with graphic here and there, we transform it to dusty pink, white and polka dot with rose gold element. I’m so lucky that my sister was here for a week so she was there to help up all the paint job while i busy with work and house chorus.
we also painted the toaster and blender to match the color of the kitchen.
My little chef can’t wait to start cooking! she love it but got bored after awhile so i need to bring out some new kitchen accessories that i kept in storeroom on and off to surprise her.
Look at this cheeky face it make all the work worthy. Okie no more toy for you next half a year!
Chloe slept in the cot for the longest (32 months) among the kids i know , well main reason she’s such a petite she haven’t outgrown the cot so we never have the intention of upgrading her bed to toddler or single bed.
Even though I’ve been eyeing this Flexa single bed at very first sight i have no urge to buy it for Chloe until we chance upon the clearance sales around April. Ming was sent to grab the deal because i was pregnant that time was so lazy to go out and he did his job very well, managed to score this bed and the safety rail at 40% OFF, how not to buy right?i read a book about minimalism, the author suggest go straight to single bed for kids from cot instead of toddler bed because it’s more sustainable as long as it’s safe for toddler in term of height and design. So i guess this Flexa bed tick off the list despite the price is on the higher side but i think it’s good enough to last till she go to primary school at least. Most important my ‘minimalist-wanna-be’ husband approved it!
Been a month Chloe upgraded to her “big girl” bed, she love it so far i guess and bedtime is such a dream nowadays. Every night after bedtime story and star/moon watching she would climb up the bed herself, pray, then put on her blankie and say good night to us before we left the room. Of course sometimes she need some prep talk before going to bed i will always tell her what exciting things we going to do on the next day so she would let me leave her room in peace.
I love the Scandinavian design of the bed, the rounded edges on each side, the white and light wood combo with a little dusty pink that i added thru the safety rail. I want to keep the room clean and simple so i stop putting in more stuff in, looking at this picture i realize i really like the braided thingy from the cushion to the bumper on the bed and the woven wall that i weaved.
Bedtime story books are placed at this rack that we hacked it from our previous baby changing table that was suppose to be thrown away but Ming come out with this idea by converted it to a book rack.
a small tiny corner for her head/hair band with mini vanity mirror we got from kmart and nightlight, see what my cheeky baby doing there. We really hope you like this room that we put together for you, little darling.
